What follows is a transcript of Episode One from my podcast: Love Notes From a Soul Coach. You can listen wherever you get your podcasts :)

I was saying to a friend the other day: I feel like I gave birth to twins. Because my book Love Notes From a Soul Coach was just released and I just recorded a podcast by the same name, where we go a little deeper into the themes of the book — essentially what it means to heal and how to support ourselves throughout the process.

I wasn’t exactly planning to birth both of these projects at the same time — but that’s how the timing played out. And even though it’s been a little hectic to balance everything all at once, I’m just deeply grateful that I’ve been able to create physical spaces where my stories can live.

I’m a collector of stories. I believe in sharing stories. I believe our lives are built on them. The stories we tell ourselves. The stories we’ve learned over time about where we come from, who our people are, what’s possible — or impossible — for us. Stories are how we contextualize our life experiences and they’re intimately connected with our belief systems — in both positive and destructive, self limiting ways.

One time I heard the teacher Abraham interrupt a man who was saying — “Ya I’ve tried the method you’re talking about but it doesn’t work” — and Abraham said: “It doesn’t work? Or it hasn’t worked YET?”

That question was life altering for me. I had it on a post it note on my desk for years. I returned to it again and again when something wasn’t working and I needed to check in with myself before giving up. “It doesn’t work? Or I haven’t given it enough time to work?”

Words, stories, questions, teachings — they have the power to radically shift our understanding of ourselves and of life.

So as I mentioned, I’ve been collecting stories basically my whole life. And I’ve known for a while now that I wanted to create my own podcast. But I found myself committing and giving up on this idea over and over again over the years, for a bunch of reasons that I’m going to explore with you here. I thought I would use myself as a case study to more clearly understand why we struggle to ACTUALIZE our
